René LaPointe Jameson

René LaPointe Jameson (she/her) is a community organizer and environmental engineer. Passionate about health equity and environmental justice, René received her BS in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University. She also had a self-designed focus which involved studying the root causes of environmental issues, capitalism, colonialism, and white supremacy. Today, René completes research and advocacy for and with marginalized communities disproportionately exposed to environmental hazards to reduce health disparities. This includes communities of color, Indigenous tribes, redlined communities, incarcerated women, and more. René has lived and completed research around the world including in Uganda and Norway. She is the founder and leader of the Boston branch of the national nonprofit Black Girl Environmentalist, a member of the Boston Public Library Fund’s young adult board, and a volunteer at the Boston Liberation Center.
