Helene completed her undergraduate degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Global Health and the Environment at Washington University in St. Louis. Helene pursued microbiology research in a women’s health infectious disease lab at Washington University medical campus and anthropological research for an international menstrual health project based in Iganga, Uganda. She is a MD candidate at UCSF School of Medicine’s Program in Medical Education for the Urban Underserved (PRIME-US). At UCSF, Helene is involved with the Anti-Oppressive Curriculum Initiative, The Repair Project, and serves as the Community Engagement chair of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) chapter.
